One Room Schoolhouses of Exeter, Rhode Island

1766-1952

The items below are scanned images of a selection of School Committee Reports that are now housed at the Exeter Public Library. The earliest report is from 1852. These reports were printed as 8 or 10 page pamphlets, and contained information for the town residents such as schoolyear tax revenue and expenditures, teacher's salaries, the number of students attending each school, and social commentary on the school system of the day.
